Hydro Hunting and Humbugs

Not that I need to but I wanted to kill a little time tonight, and I can always use more hydros, so... it was fun. I got a full ent buff, grabbed a med buff and jumped to the Graveyard, outside of Grey Fox. On my way in, I checked to see if I still had admin on Erebus's house, and I do... I may randomly deco it at some point, just as a nice thing to do for him. :)

The hunt went well: not exactly challenging. I do miss running with a DPSer... /sigh. And the Graveyard is, pardon the pun absolutely dead, now that the World Boss Krayt is such a better place to farm hydro spawns (and DNA, now that I think about it... and learn specials...)

My list of stuff I gotta get on with is just getting longer, although, to be honest, it's more that I keep forgetting I wanted to do some things, and so they fall off and then get added back. It's dumb, especially considering how good I am at actually scribbling down the stuff, you would think it would stick in  my literary memory better, but no: if I don't write it out by hand, as soon as it leaves my finger tips, I forget. :P

Anywho. Partnered up with Bugly and we killed like 24 dragons, and timing was good: jjust as my energy started to flag, I finished the extractor and popped home to offload. I got a boom on second stage of Aerys' Kliknik. I will be finishing it with as high a muta as I can find: would love to make an Acklay as my first app mutation back in. :) We'll see. It has like 18 hours on it, at least.

I also gabbled a bit at my roomies about stuff. I wish to god I could get even one of them playing with me. :( I'm so lonely... :P not really, but... ya know, it would be fun to run with folks I actually know.

World Boss and Waste Beasts

Went for my first run with the Guild last Thursday. It was a revelation. I felt like such a noob, all over again. The bosses are super hard to kill, if your strategy is not solid or your comms are not optimal, you will die so many times... We managed to kill 2 of the Krayts, and I was really regretting not staying specced for BM Medic, as I would have loved some of the hydros off the ancient spawns... Ah well, I know for next time!

Aeys and Sliggy oggling the new Krayt Wold Boss. Sheesh. he's a big'un!

One of my guildies helped me a tonne getting my comms issues sorted (sort of) and then was up to helping me price out some of Hoggle's old space parts, which was very sweet of him. I might make a few creds here and there off the RE'd stuff. The saved other pieces are not even close to server max anymore, due to power creep, (more on that in a later blog) but I may use them to figure out how to craft for space (eventually, in the far future... and in my copious spare time..;. lol) Anyway, I had fun hanging and chatting with him and another fellow, but he said something that got a bit under my pecs, explaining why he didn't like a particular dude on the BM side of things, because he just bought his supplies, did not go out to harvest stuff, and I was like, um, and?

Like, how do we support the economy if we don't spend our creds? and how do we contribute to the awareness that enzymes and such are desireable without being willing to buy them? I am still pondering how bootstrapping it is the only valid playstyle: without a big, generous guild backing you, or a massive jumpstart like I got through Hoggle, how does anyone do it all by themselves? I am boggled, and also painfully reminded of this huge flaw in the American mindframe. I  did not choose to challenge that thought at the time, but it's still bugging me, so I very likely will have a convo with him soon about it.

So am over on Aerys buying DNA, partly because of that, and partly because I really need it: I have a lot of enzymes burning holes in my backpacks... :)

I'm concentrating on mutations, because I can: did more market research and am flat out appalled egg prices have sunk to where they are. Wanna make a billion in beast crafting, start with 2...  ah well, I spent more funds, I have 40 20s in stock and can afford to run through a few more experiments: I am nowhere near breaking the bank, even after spending 200 mill on deco.

I deaked on a bunch of stuff on Sunday: will have to make other plans later but not this week: prepping for a big event in the SCA this weekend, and another the next, and cramming in new students left and right (before they all fade into the cold drear of the fall/winter seasons). I will squeeze in a bit of play till Friday, but then am off for the weekend. Next week more of the same.

Reconnection

It has been a very long time since I checked back into game, and much longer since I updated this blog.

I am currently taking advantage of a rainy, lazy day to log back in and see how things are. While a new BM event is being planned for the end of this month, I am unfortunately booked to be away that weekend, and likely will be travelling during the hours the event is on. /sad

Anyway, I can make a few beasts in the mean time and load up a vendor or two. So popping in, I can see that the Corellian small city idea did not fly, so I moved my whole lot to just outside of Tyrena, near a wee river, and only a minute out from the shuttleport of west Tyrena and a lil Reb guild city called RUFF. It's not bad, and I'm still figuring out where I can put what to keep my BM workflow easy and logical. I also really would like to get the rooms and shops deco'ed the way I had always wanted. I grabbed a half used journal to set up as a game notes journal and as a basis for this blog, moving forward.

Need to blog my thoughts about cities and communities in the game, before too much time goes on.

More soon. :)
